Finally I can log into my Google Calendar and view and add events.
Just visit calendar.google.com from your phone, and you’ll see your agenda of upcoming events, complete with details like date, time, location, description, and guest list.

If you find that your phone number is in Google Search you can have it removed here.
View and update Google Calendar with Thunderbird
If you use Google Calendar and Thunderbird check out the above tutorial for keeping the two in sync. I was able to delete events in Thunderbird and see the changes in GCal, but I wasn’t able to move an event to a different day in Thunderbird and have it moved in GCal. The tutorail uses Mozilla Lightning and Thunderbird 2 RC1, so there are bound to be a few problems up front.
Google crushes the competition again
Google retained its commanding lead of the U.S. search engine market in June, when it handled almost half of all queries, leaving competitors such as Yahoo and Microsoft to fight for the remaining usage share, Nielsen/NetRatings said Friday.
Google Tops Another Search Survey
Google has come out on top of yet another survey of the search-engine market, following the company’s top rankings on recent surveys by HitWise and Nielsen//NetRatings. Analysis firm ComScore Networks’ latest rankings report indicates that, in April, Google gained market share for the ninth consecutive month. The Reston, Virginia-based firm said that Google maintained its top position by capturing 43.1 percent of all U.S. searches. Yahoo remained in second place with 28 percent, while MSN came in third place with 12.9 percent.
Quick list of Google Calendar tips.
I’m probably late on this but I just found this Firefox extension that enables you to send SMS text messages. I have been using the Google webpage feature for sending SMS but just found the extension.
Internet users in the United States conducted 6.4 bln online searches in March 2006 and 2.7 bln of those search queries were made on Google sites according to ZDNet Research. What’s amazing to me is that Google continues to gain market share for the eighth consecutive month.

I remember when Google first started out and the funny thing is their search page looked just like it does now. There have been a few links added, but I remember a very simple page with lots of white space and a search box in the center. I think one of the ways Google continues to dominate the search industry is their ability to generate 99% of their revenue from search, and then use that revenue to build very cool web and computer based applications to give away for free. How can you not love someone that gives you something very cool? And for free!
I have finally had some time to play with Google Calendar and I’m extremely impressed. I’ve never used an online web based calendar before but I think I’m sold. Google Calendar is lightning fast, has a very cool reminder system where reminders for events can be sent via a pop-up, email, or text message to your cell phone. I also like the ability to overlay many different calendars and then display or hide as needed.
I found some helpful links if you’re looking to become a Google Calendar power user.
Useful Google Calendar Shortcuts
Google Calendar has arrived.
Seeing the big picture – With Google Calendar, you can see your friends’ and family’s schedules right next to your own; quickly add events mentioned in Gmail conversations or saved in other calendar applications; and add other interesting events that you find online.
Sharing events and calendars – You decide who can see your calendar and which details they can view. Planning an event? You can create invitations, send reminders and keep track of RSVPs right inside Google Calendar. Organizations can promote events, too.
Staying on schedule – You can set up automatic event reminders, including SMS notifications, and instantly bring up anything on your calendar with the built-in search tool.
I just noticed that www.johnhesch.com now has a Google PageRank of 6. Wow, this is my second web site with a PR of 6. I created BloggingPro which now has a PR of 7 but I sold it back when it was a 6.
I suppose I should be more consistent with my postings here and maybe I would actually get some traffic.
Pin All Your Romantic Hopes on Google
When you think about it, love is just another search problem. And Google has thought about it. A lot. Google Romanceâ„¢ is the solution.
Google Romance is a place where you can post all types of romantic information and, using their Soulmate Searchâ„¢, get back search results that could, in theory, include the love of your life. Then they’ll send you both on a Contextual Dateâ„¢, which will be paid for by Google while delivering to you relevant ads that Google and other advertising partners think will help produce the dating results you’re looking for.
I found this link on Digg this morning. Google’s interface for your next job search. If you’re already signed into Google you’ll have some items already completed for you.
Google only updates the PageRank you see in your toolbar every three months or so, but Google Index is updated continuously. This cool Ajax application will query all of the the Google Index’s and let you see if your PageRank has changed since the last Google update. It’s giving you a sneak peek.
I found this tip at Sound Money Tips.
If you want to find and compare prices on airline flights quickly, use Google. Simply enter the origination and the destination in a Google search box. For example Las Vegas Seattle. At the top of the Google results page you’ll see a place to enter your departure and arrival dates. You can then quickly search Expedia, Hotwire, Orbitz, and Priceline. Very cool.
