This ruling seems like a big deal to me but I haven’t seen much talk about it. The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis ruled that the Recording Industry Association of America cannot compel ISP’s to reveal their customers personal information when accused of illegal file trading. The RIAA said that this won’t affect them at all and that they will continue suing thousands of music file traders.
It should be interesting to see how ISP’s respond to this ruling.
